UNIT 5: PLANTS. PARTS OF A PLANT 1.    - Roots absorb water and minerals that the plant needs to grow. They also fix the plant to the ground. - Leaves use sunlight to make food for the plant. - Stem carry water and minerals from the roots to the rest of plant. They also support the plant. - Flowers produces a fruit with seeds inside. Its function is reproduction. - Seeds produce new plants. 2. HOW DO PLANTS FEED THEMSELVES? THE PHOTOSYNTESIS 1. To make food, plants need water, minerals, light and energy from the Sun and carbon dioxide. 2 . Photosyntesis happens during the day because there is sunlight, and plants need sunlight to do photosynthesis.   3.
